The first thing you notice about a laptop is its design and build quality. How it looks, feels and if it’s something you would like to carry around with you. The Lenovo Thinkpad E585 isn’t a thin and light laptop but rather a regular notebook weighing 4.7 pounds which isn’t really that big compared to other 15-inch laptops.
The new E585 laptop offers a full-size, island-style keyboard, making it a great choice for those who spend hours typing on their laptops. It is also constructed using stronger and more durable materials to help survive the bumps, bruises and accidental drops that come with everyday use. Overall Good Design.
2. Processor
Processor | Cores | Threads | Base Frequency | Max Frequency | Cashe | Graphics Card |
Ryzen 3 2200U | 2 | 4 | 2.5 GHz | 3.4 GHz | 1MB L2 / 4MB L3 | Radeon Vega 3 |

Lenovo ThinkPad E585 comes with 3 processor options and all three are by AMD. It is a great option for those looking to get a reliable, stylish machine with the power of the latest AMD Ryzen™ processor. AMD Processor is decent for those who required high Performance and for day to day work.
3. Display & Audio
Speakers | Stereo Speakers, 1.5W x 2, Dolby Advanced Audio |
Microphone | Dual Array Microphone |
Ports for Audio | headphone / microphone combo jack |
The screen on the laptop is very nice, crisp, clear and easy to read. It can be used in both low lighting and direct sunlight without any difficulties. The sound is good for listening to music or watching videos but not high-quality enough for a serious audiophile. The speakers are located on either side of the keyboard which makes them easy to locate when you’re watching a video or movie.
4. Keyboard & Trackpad
Keyboards | 6-row, Spill-Resistant, Multimedia Fn Keys |
Touchpad | Buttonless Mylar Surface Multi-touch Touchpad |
The ThinkPad 15’s keyboard has a solid, reliable feel to it and offers good travel for a laptop in its price range. It’s a classic island-style design with no Numpad—though I don’t miss it as I seldom use one anyway. The keys have a matte finish that resists finger smudges well. I didn’t notice any undue noise from them either.
The Touchpad is responsive, accurate and gets gestures like two-finger scrolling and pinch-to-zoom right without any issues.

Ethernet | Gigabit Ethernet Connection [ RJ – 45 ] |

The USB Type C is newer, which means it’s better as it allows for faster data transfer and charging. In this Laptop, all Major Ports is available which we use in day to day life.

Conclusion
Overall, if you are looking for an affordable and well-built laptop, then definitely Lenovo ThinkPad e585. There are not many laptops under $600 that even come close to matching their performance in terms of build quality and overall value. Plus, if you shop around online you can find several deals and coupons that may bring down your final price. So while not perfect in any way, it comes very close to being worth every penny spent on it. And overall I would give it an 8/10 rating!. This is the best Laptop out there if you have around 600$.
